Clear Antique Glass

An antique made by modern hands

In the past, the art of glassmaking required a painstaking, articulate process, passed down through generations by skilled craftsmen. But the product was far from perfect. Distortion and bubbles in window glass were expected and tolerated. Now those same “defects” are sought after in furniture and period projects where authenticity matters.

Drexler stocks factory-made clear antique glass that attempts to mimic the waviness and occasional bubbles seen in old glass. It works great for most applications. With random distortion and bubbles, this special glass exhibits the mild waviness and occasional “seeds” that are characteristic of true antique window glass, making it ideal for historically accurate renovations and period-style reproductions.

Our decades of work in the glass business means that we know how to keep the traditions worth maintaining. For those with an appreciation of the past, we’re ready to help make it a part of your modern world.
