Ed Wallace

Lead Fabricator

With years of experience with tools, materials, and construction, Ed is our resident master craftsman. As lead fabricator, he works closely with our crew leaders and project managers to ensure all glass and material is sized correctly and finished perfectly with the goal of exceeding our clients’ expectations.

Ed learned the fundamentals of structural and finish carpentry, electrical, and plumbing while working with his father, who was a residential building and remodeling contractor. After his father’s retirement, Ed joined the Carpenters Union, where he learned commercial carpentry and finish specialties. He later joined the Glaziers Union on a permit from the AFL-CIO, where he learned the craft of highrise glazing. Before coming on with Drexler Glass, Ed worked for DeKalb County as a Design and Construction Superintendent and Deputy Director of Facilities Management, where he developed relationships and coordinated with architects, designers, and other building professionals. These experiences aided in Ed’s understanding of the work scope and expectations on the larger projects we do at Drexler Glass.

On the weekends you might find Ed at a porch party decked out in his black cowboy hat and sunglasses playing guitar and singing the blues. He and his wife Debbie just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last year and she still puts up with the noise after all these years. True love!
